About the Office of the General Counsel

The Office of the General Counsel for the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) provides legal advice and support to the department’s secretary and divisions. It is part of the Office of the Secretary, it ensures the department operates with integrity, transparency, and compliance with state and federal laws. The office supports rulemaking, contracts, public records, ethics and legal risk mitigation.
