Corey Roybal named director of Adult Protective Services
SANTA FE – The Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) is proud to announce that Corey Roybal is now serving as the new Director of Adult Protective Services (APS).
Roybal brings over a decade of experience in protective services, client advocacy, and systems-based intervention. Since joining ALTSD in 2018, he has served multiple roles, most recently acting as deputy director of APS since 2023.
“During his time here at ALTSD, Corey has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting the most vulnerable New Mexicans,” said Emily Kaltenbach ALTSD Cabinet Secretary. “His deep knowledge of adult protective services, combined with a harm-reduction and trauma-informed approach make him the right leader to guide this vital division forward.”
A lifelong New Mexican, Roybal holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining ALTSD, he worked with the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparation Commission, where he assisted in connecting survivors of violent crimes with restorative resources.
“It is an honor to step into this role and continue to uphold the dignity, safety and wellbeing of adults who may be at risk,” said Roybal. “APS is a lifeline for many, and I am proud to lead an incredible team that shows up every day committed to ensuring every New Mexican has access to the protection and support they deserve.”
