Support Aging and Long-Term Services Department by advocating for our budget! The Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) plays a critical role in meeting the needs of aging adults and adults with disabilities across New Mexico through:
- Preventing and investigating adult abuse, neglect and fraud through Adult Protective Services
- Providing senior center meals, home-delivered meals, transportation coordination, respite care, and case management services and support
- Emergency Funding to ensure disaster preparedness and urgent supplemental programmatic needs are met
- Public education and outreach to adults in New Mexico on how to access critical services and programs
These services and programs protect vulnerable adults and promote independence and living with dignity. They are lifelines that allow our seniors to remain active, connected, and cared for within their communities. We respectfully urge the Legislature to recognize the vital importance of these services by increasing the current funding allocated to the Aging and Long-Term Services Department due to an accelerating increase in New Mexico’s aging population which is creating a greater demand for services, programs and support across New Mexico communities. Contact your legislator and ask for their support!
