Thank you from the staff at ALTSD!
It was great and got to make several connections with people. It was also great to have fun with coworkers as we assisted and interacted with my elderly for the conference.
I presented a session called “How has History Impacted You?” Participants wrote about a historical event that had meaning to them; shared them with a partner; and then in small groups they acted out one of the historical events. Below is a comment from one of the participants and some photos. Dear Nancy, I never had the chance to evaluate u after our session. But here it is: EXCELLENT A+++! I am still amazed about your gutsy session presentation, guiding us into a retrospective of our personal history, leaving us to share our deepest feelings remembering the past and come to a common denominator. We are in dire straits! Well done! Needless to say, the first day of this conference blew my top, and that’s not easily done. Bless u and my hope is to connect w/ u again. Cheers, Thomas I had a wonderful time as a presenter and volunteer and am already looking forward to next year! Nancy Morris-Judd, Educator New Mexico History Museum

Secretary Emily Kaltenbach was all smiles in the dining hall on Day 1, meeting and greeting our guests! It was a great start to the day with warm welcomes and even warmer hospitality.
It was magical! The classes were spot on, and the entertainment kept the days lively. Eating meals family style was a great way to get to know others around the state, and the food was delicious too. The dance with Al Hurricane Jr. felt so joyous and fun, I can’t wait until next year!
What a wonderful conference!!!! Great job!!!!!
We had so many for the Tai Chi workshop, we had to go outside! Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of the Aging conference!

Thank you for wonderful experience at my first NM Conference on Agining (9/23-25/2025). The hard work and careful organization that went into this event was so evident. Everyone was kind and enthusiastic. The presentations and the exhibit area were very informative. I so appreciated Governor Lujan-Grisham speaking. Her perspective on aging and senior issues is informed by her vast experience. I am a 7 year resident of NM. I had never seen her in person. Mighty message from a spirited leader. Chip Conley’s plenary session was inspiring beyond measure. Even though I am well beyond midlife, I was appreciative of his emphasis on continuing to grow through interest exploration and connection with community. I have been telling others about his “midlife wisdom school.” When I was recently invited to make a presentation at the Silver City Unitarian Universalist on Sun. October 26, I chose to speak about the EnAGEment theme of the conference. I’ve coined this phrase “Aging is not a Disease.” It’s title of my Sunday talk.
Family meal style was a hit this year! One table kicked things off with a fun ‘cheers’ using their tea glasses and before we knew it, the whole room joined in with pitchers and all. Nothing brings people together like good food and great vibes! Glorieta’s staff did a great job serving!

Ziplining….. At 62 I was hesitant to take that 1st step off but I did it! I prbly would have never had that experience. Thank you.
Hi, this is Sarah “Lydia” Montoya. I just want to say thank you again to all the altsd staff, the volunteers, the sponsors and of course to our Governor Lujan-Grisham. My 90 yr.. old aunt just loved the sessions, the entertainment, the food and all the volunteers. I can’t thank each of you enough. What a pleasure it was to meet so many wonderful people in one place and to hear our government leaders talk about their continued vision for seniors.
I worked with Legal Aid for 13 years. I was the legal assistant for the SEARS Project which was a legal program dedicated to the Northern Pueblos and the local senior centers in Santa Fe. My supervisor was Virginia Sears. I know Governor Lujan-Grisham is very familiar with the work that Virginia did for our seniors.
I would love to volunteer for next years’ conference if you can use me in any capacity. Please let me know who to contact to offer my volunteer services either now in Las Cruces or for the next conference.
Once again, thank you for all the wonderful sessions, resources, and everything at the conference but most of all thank you for your commitment to the seniors of New Mexico.
I want to compliment you guys on a great conference. The staff was wonderful. This was my first time attending, but hopefully not my last time. I wanted to let you know how wonderful it was and thank you so much for including me. Hope to see you next year.
