Darren Cordova y Calor
For more than three decades, Darren Cordova and Darren Cordova y Calor have been among the most recognizable and influential names in New Mexico music. Born and raised in Dixon, New Mexico, Darren’s musical journey began performing alongside his father and brothers in the family group, Los Cordova’s, a band that quickly became a favorite throughout the Southwest.
In 1993, Darren launched Darren Cordova y Calor, creating a signature sound that blends traditional New Mexico Spanish music with contemporary country, ranchera, cumbia, and Latin influences. Known for energetic performances, heartfelt vocals, and exceptional musicianship, the band has built a loyal following that spans generations across New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and beyond.
Throughout his career, Darren has released numerous albums and fan favorites, producing music that celebrates the rich traditions and culture of the Southwest while continuing to push the genre forward. His recordings, which include hit songs “Mi Amigo (Dos O Tres Tequilas)”, “Cantinero”, “Que Levante La Mano”, and “Te Quiero Mama”, have become staples of New Mexico music radio and dance halls.
